Performing Arts

NHC is a Founder college of the National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural skills. Through working with the NSA’s network of employers we are able to ensure that our courses equip students with relevant industry skills required.

Performing Arts courses are delivered through a mix of practical and theoretical learning and assignment work is both practical and theoretical, and evaluated in a vocational context.

Production Arts

We offer a range of courses designed to teach students the skills required both on stage and behind the scenes with our BTEC National Diploma in Production Arts.

Our students have been involved in professional work at Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh (in association with Matthew Townshend Productions) and have so far worked at Rhythms of the World in Hitchin, The Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage, The Barn Theatre in Welwyn, The Queen Mother Theatre in Hitchin, The Rhodes Arts Centre in Bishops Stortford and The Castle Theatrein Hertford.
