Kerri Lewis - Bedfordshire Police Careers Development Administrator

Kerri Lewis

“I think Apprenticeship is a brilliant way forward in regards to learning as well as working in an organisation. I would strongly recommend people to apply for an Apprenticeship.”

I began studying Business Administration full time and then applied for an Apprenticeship. It was a wonderful way to learn and gain the various skills required in a business environment. I felt lucky to be employed in full-time work whilst being able to put into practice the skills I learn at college each week. My College Assessor was great, visiting me very often and always being available to answer any questions.

My Apprenticeship with Bedfordshire Police began in January 2010. I enjoy every aspect of my job as I believe that each day brings something new. My job requires computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills and a proactive and structured approach to working. I also need to be able to complete multiple tasks and prioritise my workload.

My first goal is to complete the training and Business Administration qualification to enable me to further my career with the police. If I made my choice again I would definitely choose to study at NHC.
