Based mainly at The Goldsmith Centre in Letchworth GC the academy is the employer facing side of North Hertfordshire College, leading the way in developing training and learning initiatives to meet specific, identified employer needs and industry expectations in various sectors.
The Goldsmith Centre is a CoVE Centre of Vocational Excellence for Management awarded in 2002 by the Learning and Skills Council.

Train to Gain is a major Government initiative designed to encourage employers to develop the skills of their employees to level 2 the equivalent of a school leaving qualification.
This should make individuals more effective and therefore improve business performance. It also builds self confidence and encourages individuals into further self development whether it be for business or pleasure.
North Hertfordshire College is the lead partner in the Hertfordshire Train to Gain Consortium covering NVQ delivery in the workplace in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex.
This allows the Consortium to offer a huge range of qualifications covering most sectors.
The college offer a range of free apprenticeship programmes for individuals aged 16-24.
Apprenticeships are nationally designed training programmes for people who have already left full-time education or are already in employment. Learners on apprenticeships are provided with a combination of on and off-the-job training whilst they are being paid.
When learners are enrolled on an Apprenticeship or an Advanced Apprenticeship programme they will be working towards the achievement of an NVQ, Key Skills, Technical Certificate and other training requirements defined for the particular occupation. More information can be found on Apprenticeships on the course search page.
North Hertfordshire College is committed to providing excellent Employer Engagement across all curriculum areas.
We offer employers the opportunity to build their workforce of the future by providing our learners with the opportunity to experience real life workplace examples by offering work placements, work experience and company visits.
We encourage employers to speak with our learners and work with us to develop our programmes to ensure they meet their needs and that our learners leave their programme with the skills employers can identify as being the best in the field.
To support this we offer a variety of employer events throughout the year, including innovative networking events with Network Now!, national initiatives such as Enterprise Week and Take Your Child to Work Day and our interactive careers event World of Work Week in April.
