Experience, expertise and networks to benefit everyone.
The Hart Learning Group patron programme recognises the distinctive contribution that willing individuals make to the work of the Group by leveraging their experience, expertise and networks to the benefit of students in NHC, Hart L&D and the Hart Schools Trust.
In creating the programme, Group CEO Matt Hamnett said:
"Everything we do is about helping our students to fulfil their potential in their chosen occupation. To do that, we need to work closely with businesses, and the community, to provide students with a rich, relevant experience that equips them with the skills and experiences they need to succeed. We’re incredibly grateful for the support that local businesses, community partners and individuals provide to us in creating that experience. Our patron programme is about recognising the special contributions made to our work by specific individuals."
The first Hart Patron is Simon Harvey. Simon is an entertainment and technology entrepreneur with over thirty years’ experience in the global marketing sector. He has successfully built a number of high profile music, TV and video games brands, including Guitar Hero, as well as entertainment ventures with Peter Gabriel, Michael Eavis and ITV. He has advised Government on a range of policy issues pertaining to entertainment, technology and education and is also a full BAFTA member and a director of The Grays Group and LA-based Bosh Entertainment LLC. Simon grew up in Letchworth and has lived and worked in Hitchin throughout his career. Simon said:
"Becoming a Patron is a great honour, especially given that I was a student there myself once upon a time. I passionately support Matt Hamnett’s vision and plans for the Group: engaging businesses in the design and delivery of education programmes, whilst working with businesses to help them invest intelligently in emerging talent. Hart can play a lead part in changes in education and work placement."
