Future entrepreneurs get a taste of NHC’s Peter Jones Enterprise Academy

Future entrepreneurs visited NHC’s Enterprise Centre in Hitchin for the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy taster day.

Young people hoping to study at the Enterprise Academy in September, spent the day learning more about what the courses will entail and taking part in activities to discover their preferred style of working.

NHC’s Entrepreneur in Residence, local jewellery designer, Alyssa Smith spoke to students about her own experiences setting up a business and her successful use of Facebook and Twitter.

Tony Vaughan currently runs his own plastering and tiling business and would like to expand into property development. Tony attended the taster day to find out more about the courses available and how the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy can help him, Tony explained: “I want to get into home development and renovation and hope this course will point me in the right direction. Alyssa explained her story and it’s fantastic to see what you can achieve with the right steering and mentoring, it’s inspired me to get into social media.”

Rohit Krishan spoke to a careers advisor at NHC’s Stevenage centre and decided to come along to the taster day, Rohit commented: “I’ve always been interested in business, I’ve had a great day and the facilities are excellent, I definitely want to study here in September.”

Anyone interested in studying at the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy can browse the courses online or come along to an advice and guidance session every Wednesday during August between 10am and 4pm at NHC’s Hitchin centre.
