Students bake for Cancer Research

Level 3 Society, Health and Development students successfully raised £173 for Cancer Research this week. As part of their course, the students were tasked with planning and running an event to raise money for charity.

Students baked a variety of cakes themselves which they then sold in the Stevenage Centre atrium.

Tutor Jo Lawson explained: “The students have all worked really hard to make this cake sale happen. They have been enthusiastic and hard working from beginning to end, thinking up innovative ideas and talking them through. The end result has been spectacular. Comments I have heard throughout the day were, ‘wow these look fantastic’ and ‘I can’t believe these girls have made the cakes themselves, they look so professional.’ I am very proud of them all.”

Society, Health and Development student Sherina Gould, who led the cake sale commented: “I was so excited, the sale went so much better than I thought it would.”
