Level 1 and 2 Beauty Therapy students have been taken out of the traditional salon environment to improve their communication skills and client care.
Organised through the charity Kissing it Better, students visited the elderly care ward and the stroke unit at Lister Hospital, chatting to patients and offering manicure and massage services.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in this Unity project every week and experience working on the different wards with varying patient needs, and will also be able to cover units and assessment opportunities within their beauty therapy diploma.
Liz Pryor from Kissing it Better commented: “It’s a pleasure to take Beauty Therapy students from NHC into the Lister Hospital. They are always enthusiastic, they look stunning, and the treatments they give really do make patients and staff feel special. A big thank you from Kissing it Better!"
