A team of NHC’s IT students achieved success against students from Barnfield College, City College Norwich and Cambridge Regional College in the East Region Inter College Competition this week.
Students from colleges across the region had travelled to Luton's Barnfield College to take part in a range of competitions including brickwork, plastering and computing.
Second year student Matt Lingwood won first place in the IT Network competition and first year student Prince Ofori achieved third place in the Website Design competition. Both students study the BTEC Extended Diploma in IT.
Matt commented: "Being able to demonstrate the talent I have for this skill is really good. It is nice to do something you enjoy and achieve great things."
“The East Region competition was organised by the four colleges to encourage students to raise their game and get experience of major competitions,” explained NHC’s Head of School for ICT, Hazel Smith. “We are extremely proud of our students who are one step closer to entering national and competitions such as SkillBuild and WorldSkills.”
