How to Apply

Application and interviews

You can apply by filling in an application form obtainable from any of our centres, or you can apply online. All applicants are required to attend an interview before they are accepted onto a full-time course and some part-time courses at NHC. Once your application form has been received, you will be sent an acknowledgement and will then receive a letter within two weeks inviting you for interview.

After your interview

Unconditional Offer
If you already have the required qualifications to study at the college you will be made an unconditional offer.

Conditional Offer
If you are still awaiting examination results, or in some cases practical test results, you may be made a conditional offer and have the conditions outlined to you by the tutor. The most common requirement will be exam results. You will be required to show evidence of your exam results in order to meet the conditions of your offer.
If you do not obtain the required grades to join a course, please contact Customer Services on 01462 424242. They will be happy to make an appointment for you to meet with our Guidance Team where you will be able to discuss course/career choice. Our Guidance Team is available throughout the summer. Please contact Customer Services for days and times of availability.

Support Needs

Please let us know at application stage if you will require any help and support at your interview and with your chosen course of study. This will enable us to effectively respond to individual educational and training needs and requirements for specialist or modified facilities.

Enrolment

A letter will be sent to you before the end of August to invite you to attend one of our enrolment sessions. The letter will include details of anything you need to bring with you, such as an administration fee, proof of exam results etc.

Students from outside the UK

Applicants from outside the UK may be required to pay for their course fees. To enable us to look at each case individually, you are required to enclose a full copy of your passport. Please also enclose a translated copy of qualifications listing subjects and grades obtained. A good standard of English is required for all full-time learning programmes; however, support to improve your essential skills is available.
Please allow sufficient time to process applications and for immigration formalities to be completed. Please note that you may be required to attend the college in person for an interview before a formal offer can be made.
