Unless otherwise stated learners can qualify for a reduced fee if they are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
Duration: 5 weeks
Learning Aims: Demonstrate the ability to cook a selection of Traditional Indian foods by the process of being guided through sets of recipes.-Demonstrate the ability to follow new recipes and source unusual ingredients-Demonstrate the principal of adding variations to a basic recipe.-Demonstrate knowledge of Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety.
Course Content: This course provides an introduction to Indian cookery and includes: Traditional and popular main course curries suitable for family or for entertaining, Vegetarian main courses, side dishes and accompaniments.
Entry requirements: An interest in the subject area. No previous knowledge required.
Assessment: Observation and discussion, tutor feedback, practical
Equipment/ Materials required: Ingredients for recipes and containers for transporting cooking each week. The tutor will advise at each session.
Progression opportunities: Further leisure courses or part time qualification courses.
