Beauty and Holistic Therapies

Beauty and holistic therapy can provide you with an engaging and rewarding career. If you enjoy working with people, are creative and interested in a fashion led industry, you will enjoy a beauty course.

North Hertfordshire College has the right course to get you started in beauty and holistic therapies, or enhance your current skills to a higher level.

Beauty and holistic therapy courses are taught at the Hitchin Centre, which boasts modern salon facilities and equipment. Energise, our commercial salon, is open to the public and give students valuable experience in practising their skills on clients.

Beauty and holistic therapy courses are staffed by teachers with professional experience and extensive industry knowledge. Whilst studying at NHC, you'll train in our professional beauty salon, which is open for commercial use, and have the opportunity to showcase work in exhibitions and to future students.

Beauty students improve patient experience with Kissing it Better

Level 1 and 2 Beauty Therapy students have been taken out of the traditional salon environment to improve their communication skills and client car at Lister Hospital, working with the Kissing it Better initiative.

WorldSkills - Beauty Therapy

Olga Walker (pictured above) and Jade Bainbridge, Level 3 Beauty Therapy students, placed second and third at WorldSkills 2012.

Olga enjoyed the challenge of the competition: “I was honoured to represent North Hertfordshire College in the WorldSkills competition and very proud to be placed!”

Ali Gray, Beauty Therapy Lecturer, stated: “I was extremely proud that both students represented the college so professionally. They deserve this accolade and really rose to the occasion. The standard of work was extremely high from all the competitors so Jade and Olga have done exceptionally well to take two of the top three places!”

Charity waxing for Children in Need

Enhance and Energise hosted an event for the launch of Wella and Dermalogica products at the salons this week. 115 people attended the event, and had the opportunity to experience mini-treatments, receive a goodie bag of new products, and enjoyed a buffet. See more here!
