Assessor Development Programme
With the NEW Assessor Development Project you could train one or more of your staff as an in-house assessor for FREE.
The in-house assessor would be able to assess your employees’ competence on a regular basis as opportunities naturally arise: this could reduce the time needed to complete the qualification allowing you to benefit from increased skills much faster.
Your own in-house assessor would also be a fantastic management tool as the assessor will learn how to assess competence: this could contribute to your performance management system and ensure that staff performance is up to the required standards.
To qualify for a fully-funded place as a Trainee Assessor under this project, individuals must be:
- Over 19 years of age.
- Employed in an organisation either in the public or private sector.
- Working or living in the East of England.
There is no restriction on the size of organisation or industry sector.
Trainee Assessors must have both the time and commitment, in the workplace, to support and assess at least two candidates, attend meetings with their Assessor, and regularly participate in Centre Quality meetings.
An ideal Assessor would typically have experience of working in a particular sector, or specialist areas within it. They should be working in roles where they have either an interest in, or experience of, coaching and supporting individuals. The suitability or ability to be an Assessor also depends on the requirements o f the relevant Sector Skills Council Assessment Strategy, and Joint Awarding Body Code of Practice, which stipulate the required level of occupational competence and qualification level achieved.
The programme delivery is flexible to work around an employer’s business needs and includes:
-
One-day workshops for the basic knowledge.
-
Observation in the workplace.
-
One-to-one coaching support.
-
Self-study, research and distance learning.
The next workshops are being held at the Goldsmith Centre for Business on
20 April, 12 May and the 08 June. Why not start sooner rather than later and make a change for the better?
We can also hold the initial workshops on your own premises if you have a group of at least eight people to train.
